Whiteside Visit!

A few weekends ago, the Whitesides made their first trip back to Houston for a work function that Ryan and Mary Pat had to go to. Needless to say, us Burkharts were PUMPED! Two slumber parties in a row, really??? : )
The first night, Ryan and Mary Pat went to the work party they came in for and we babysat Evie.
The next day, the gloomy day of the OU/UT game : (, we planned for a picnic lunch with our original playgroup from last year, the Smiths and the LeRouax's. It was so great to have everyone back together again! Look at all that orange, too bad it didn't make a difference : (
(Mary Pat, Hunter, Robyn, me and Bekah, Emily
Evie, Barrett, Mason and Samantha)
We even got sweet Aggie Evie to wear one of Bekah's Longhorn shirts, thanks Ryan for allowing such a thing! She doesn't seem too upset by it : ).
Bekah really loves all of my friends, they are so sweet to her!
Hunter and Evie hanging out in the firetruck
I love this picture of Robyn and Hunter, such cute Longhorns : ).
Mary Pat was so excited to see how much Samantha had grown, she is one now!
Unlike most playdates that we had last year, some of the daddies were able to make it, Ryan and Zack. These two daddys 'of girls had fun doing "guy stuff" with Mason and Barrett. Mary Pat and I loved seeing them in that element and hope that one they might have their own boys to play football with !

The boys appreciated Zack and Ryan for helping them to do the big kid stuff,

and even Bekah decided she wanted in on the fun too:
After a long morning at the park, we all headed back to watch some football. The UT/OU game wasn't the most exciting game, so we lost Ryan about halfway through, teehee! How funny is this picture???? He didn't even wake up when we put both the dolls on him AND snapped the picture! Guess playing at the park got to the best of him!

Later that night, we went to a great Mexican Food restaurant with a sand pit, where basically, all the kids play and the parents sit around drinking margaritas while waiting on their table! A pretty good system if you ask me! Bekah made sure to give Evie lots of hugs!
She had more fun that weekend!
Evie's good table manners must have rubbed off on Bekah because the girls sat in their high chairs the whole time! The parents really appreciated this, let us have more time to talk! I guess the ice cream at the end helped elongate our visit : ).
Before the Whitesides left, we couldn't help but want to get a picture of them in their matching flower girl dresses! They are both flower girls in weddings this fall and when Evie picked hers out, Bekah politely asked her if she could copy her and buy the same dress it was so lovely! So here they are, what precious friends these girls are! ( Every pic I got, Bekah was being serious and Evie, silly!)
Mary Pat and I joked that when we put our two girls together, we hardly ever had to "parent" they got along so well! They were around each other so much the first year we were here, I know Bekah loves her like a sister and it is so true, they get along SO well! How lucky we feel, that we WANT them to be friends because we are friends, but that they actually want to be friends too!
Thanks again for giving us a whole weekend of your time Whitesides! We love y'all!
